Restaurants
Restaurants have both preparation food scraps and plate scraps. Because of the possibility of diseases from sick people, food from restaurants must be sterilized before feeding to animals or must be composted at high temperatures for several weeks to prevent transmission of disease. Restaurants have the possibility of donating meals to hungry people directly and still edible food to food pantries. Cafeterias for big companies and restaurants are logical customers for food scrap collection as much of their trash is compostable.
